Deployment steps and timing

  • What are the hardware and software requirements for Oral4D?

     

    Workstation Requirements

    • Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10 or Macintosh OS X 10.9 and up
    • Windows: DirectX 11 supported video card
    • Processor: 3rd Generation Intel® Core™ Processors and newer
    • Memory: 4GB Minimum, 64-bit operating system

    Due to the 3D graphics used by the Oral4D application, the software will not run in a thin-client (Terminal Server, RDP, Citrix) environment.

  • Who developed Oral4D and why?

    Dr. Hisham Badawi, an orthodontist in Calgary, Canada, is the visionary behind the software. He runs his own busy practice and also teaches at the University of Alberta, where he completed his PhD in orthodontics. His research focused on the use of 3D technologies to understand orthodontic force systems.

    Dr. Badawi created Oral4D because he wanted to help other orthodontists avoid feeling exposed and vulnerable due to liability risk, and focus on their job of creating smiles.

  • How does Oral4D's software change the documentation process in my practice?

    Your clinical workflow will be enhanced by a smoother treatment documentation process. You simply have the ability to visually review treatment notes quickly and comprehensively, and have access to standardized and complete record documentation.

  • Which Practice Management Systems are Oral4D's software solutions compatible with?

    Currently, Oral4D Systems has syncronizing capabilities with the Dolphin Management systems. Treatment notes can be brought into Oral4D Systems upon implementation so you use the treatment card functionality of our products only, instead of going back and forth between treatment cards.

    Aligner4D connects to your ClinCheck to bring your Invisalign treatment plan directly into our software so you can track your treatment process, get procedure reminders and chart without typing.

  • How is Oral4D compatible with Dolphin?

    You launch the software by clicking the Ortho4D button in your patient’s treatment card from inside Dolphin. In doing this, you launch your patient’s specific Ortho4D treatment record. You can view Dolphin treatment card entries directly in the Ortho4D software.

  • Can Ortho4D run as standalone software?

    Yes, it can. It’s easy to use Ortho4D to create 3D patient records, as well as text-based notes, without integrating with a PMS. By importing patient demographics into Ortho4D from your current PMS software, you can seamlessly incorporate Ortho4D into your workflow.

  • Is there training involved? How much does it cost?

    The software is intuitive and easy to learn. We provide you with full access to an online toolkit that includes online videos, webinar sessions and online help documents. We offer phone and email support as well. Initial training done by all users by completing a set of training modules that walks the user step-by-step through our software.

     

  • How do assistants respond to the learning curve and implementation process?

    Our training modules are intuitive and guide the assistant in the learning process. The feedback from our users tells us that once your assistants have created a handful of patient records, they will be comfortable using the software chairside.

  • Will we need to schedule extra appointment time during the transition?

    No. Feedback from our users says their appointment time lengths were the same after they adopted the software.
